Celina Metal Braces
A Time-Tested Treatment with Proven Results
Metal braces have been around for a long time, and they’re still one of the most effective options for patients at Hemphill Orthodontics. Our modern metal braces are strong, reliable, and great at correcting a wide range of orthodontic issues.
A Proven Solution,
Upgraded for Today
Traditional metal braces remain the most recognizable and widely used type of orthodontic treatment—and for good reason. These durable systems are built for results and are a trusted option for patients of all ages.
At Hemphill Orthodontics, our metal braces are made using high-quality stainless steel, with precision-designed brackets and wires that allow for accurate, consistent tooth movement.
Thanks to modern advances, today’s metal braces are smaller, more comfortable, and more efficient than ever before—without sacrificing the effectiveness patients and orthodontists trust.

Durable, Reliable, &
Designed-to-Perform
At Hemphill Orthodontics, metal braces are one of our most versatile treatment options. From durability to cost-effectiveness, here’s why they remain a popular choice for patients throughout Celina.
Built for Strength
Metal brackets are made from stainless steel, nickel, and other metals to create a long-lasting and resilient system. These brackets can handle the daily wear and tear of treatment—especially for younger, active patients.
Efficient Movement
With regular adjustments from Dr. Hemphill, your braces use a combination of wires and elastics to apply gentle pressure that steadily guides your teeth into their correct positions.
Straightforward Maintenance
Since the appliances are fixed in place, you’ll never have to worry about misplacing trays or remembering to put them in. Your progress continues every day, as long as you follow your adjustment schedule and hygiene routine.
A Cost-Effective Option
Braces don’t rely on advanced software or lab-fabricated components, which often makes them more affordable than clear aligners or other cosmetic options. That makes them a great fit for families looking to balance cost with results.
What Are Braces
Made Of?
Metal braces may look simple—but they’re made up of several important parts that all work together to straighten your smile.
Brackets
These are the small metal pieces bonded to each tooth. Each bracket has a small door or hook where the archwire is threaded through.
Glue
This dental adhesive is used to attach each bracket directly to the surface of your tooth.
Archwire
This thin piece of metal connects the brackets and is adjusted over time to apply the right amount of pressure.
Elastics (Rubber Bands)
Used for bite correction, these are typically attached between upper and lower teeth to help guide jaw alignment.
Orthodontic Bands
These stainless steel rings are bonded to molars and serve as anchors for braces or appliances. Not all patients require bands.
Spacers (Separators)
Small elastic rings that may be used before braces to create space between teeth, making room for bands if needed.
Ligatures / O-Rings / Colors
These are the small rubber bands used to secure the archwire into the brackets. Available in a wide range of colors for a personalized look.
